Mark Acosta

Mark Acosta is metro editor for The Press-Enterprise and played a key role in the Riverside, Calif.-based newspaper’s coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. He joined The Press-Enterprise full time in 1991 and has been there ever since, working as a reporter covering public safety and government and then as an editor. In his current post, he oversees local news for the Southern California News Group publication.

A Riverside native, Acosta started his journalism career at The Press-Enterprise as a summer intern. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from UC Riverside and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

For many years, Acosta was president of the Inland Chapter of the California Chicano News Media Association, which awarded scholarships to Latino students and staged journalism workshops for high school and college students. He also served on the CCNMA state board of directors.{/sliders}
