Jennifer's journalism background, which also includes the Providence (RI) Journal and The Indianapolis Star, has proven invaluable as she navigates public health issues throughout Indiana. She jumped into the deep end of the public relations pool when she joined ISDH during an unprecedented HIV outbreak and has never looked back. Since then, she has led successful efforts to manage community crises over lead poisoning and childhood cancer, build awareness of the Zika virus and educate hard-to-reach populations about a hepatitis A outbreak. She advocates for unique approaches to public health messaging and engages partners at the local, state and federal levels to ensure that the right message reaches the right people at the right time.

She is a graduate of Indiana University, has studied change management at Simmons College and has completed CERC and PIO training through CDC and FEMA. {/sliders}
