Community-Engaged Research: Partnering for a Healthier Future
Wednesday, August 17, 2022 9:45 AM - 11:15 AM (EDT)
TOPIC DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW
The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against COVID-19 Disparities was launched two years ago in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nationwide CEAL Alliance now consists of 21 teams comprised of community-engaged researchers and almost 700 community partners working to build trust in science and mitigate the impact of the pandemic on communities and that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
The session will feature presentations by NIH’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and three CEAL Teams. They will describe what lead to the creation of the Alliance, the creative approaches that CEAL Teams and their partners are using to engage their communities, and what comes next for this community-engaged research initiative.
